This focuses on back thickness, something I did relentlessly in pursuit of my first US contest – I even had a weekly back workout dedicated to thickness alone! Eventually, it helped me overcome my back weakness.
- Bent Over Rows 6 X 8-12 reps
- Single Arm Dumbbell Rows 6 X 8-12 reps
- T-Bar Rows 4 X 8-12 reps
- Seated Wide Grip Cable Rows 4 X 8-12 reps
- Reverse Grip Pause Bent Over Rows 4 X 8-12 reps
Here is a big difference, you only get to rest for 45 seconds between sets! This creates a huge amount of intensity and leads to lots of blood pooling within the back muscles. Muscle growth, mechano growth factor hormone production, and fascia stretching are all stimulated because of this.
