I want to take the time today to answer this because I think it can really help a lot of people understand the true process of fat loss, and getting into amazing condition.
First up, for different people conditions will mean different things. Some just want abs, which is probably about 12% for a man. Others want to be really lean which is about 8%, then there are those who actually want to be diced which is more like 5%. Just know that the leaner you want to get, the harder it is because your body doesn’t really want to get that low. You need patience, this is a BIG part of getting into shape. Also, the hunger to forgo s*** when you are craving, the ability to train hard when tired, and enough mental strength to get your cardio done.
This is what it TAKES
Let’s talk about timescales and what impacts this…
Your starting position is the biggest thing we need to consider.
Some people need 6 months to get into amazing condition because they have a lot of fat to lose, some even 12 months if they have even more to lose. Most people who are in reasonable shape now need 12-16 weeks to get into the low body fat numbers if they go ALL OUT.
However, what really matters is progression right?
If you give everything you have got, stay consistent, and really want it you will see great progress every week with fat loss. Of course, provided you are using the right plan because being consistent with the WRONG plan still won’t work.
Here is another tip, always give yourself a little longer than you think you need. For the NPC Shows, I always give myself 16 weeks although I probably only need 12. This means you are ahead of schedule which is smart planning.
